Mr Mazen Tahhan is a highly experienced Consultant Ophthalmologist, dedicated to providing exceptional eye care with a special focus on cataract surgery. He holds the prestigious FRCSEd qualification in ophthalmology, earned in 1999, and completed his specialist training in Devon.
For over two decades, from 2000 to 2021, Mr Tahhan served as a senior eye surgeon at the renowned Birmingham Midlands Eye Centre, establishing himself as a leading expert in his field. During his time there, he pioneered standing cataract surgery for patients with severe COPD, becoming the sole provider of this specialised technique in the Midlands, demonstrating his commitment to tailoring treatments to individual patient needs.
Since 2000, Mr Tahhan was involved in teaching ophthalmology registrars and trainees, more than 40 of whom are now practising ophthalmology consultants across the UK and internationally. He continues to be involved in teaching trainees in NHS settings.
